Wednesday November 25th

Dear Parents,

We had a great day before Thanksgiving.  Our first project today was to put turkeys feathers in order.  We colored feathers green, orange, purple and blue.  Then Miss Schlesselman read us clues and we had to glue the feathers in the right order.

We read a Bible story today about Jesus and the Children.  The disciples told the children that Jesus did not have time for them.  But Jesus always has time for us.  We talked about all the things God blessed us with.  Our calendar helper was Cameron.  He put the numbers up for yesterday and today.  He also put up the words Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Our weather helper was Kenny.  Kenny put the sun up on Wednesday and dressed up the bear as a cowboy.

We had two projects to work on during center time.  We had a turkey that we added tail feather colors to with tissue paper.  Then we also made a Thanksgiving necklace with a lot of different Thanksgiving pictures on it.  When we finished with that it was almost time to go.  We made a turkey and then we went home.  We enjoyed our Thank You God Sharing Meal.

Thanks to all who came.  Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Friday November 20th

Dear Parents,

It was a nice sunny day today.  Our first project today was to put the days of the week in order.  We had to cut them out.  Then we put the days in order. Miss Schlesselman and Mrs. Klaustermeier helped us put them in order.  We glued them onto the paper.

Pastor came in today. He told us about a man named Job.  Job had a lot of good things.  But then a lot of bad things happened and Job lost everything.  He even got sick.  He still did not get mad at God.  His friends told him it was because he sinned very badly.  But God told Job that he loved him very much.  Job got a lot of new things to replace all the things that had been taken from him.  God loves us and sometimes bad things happen but God always loves us.

Our calendar helper today was Ben.  He put up the numbers 19 & 20.  Our weather helper was Keagan.  We were glad that we finally got to put a sun up for Friday.  He dressed the bear as a fire man.  We talked about Thanksgiving and read a book about Thanksgiving. Our projects were working in our journal drawing a picture of Thanksgiving and coloring a picture of Squanto. Kenzie brought some cool turkey cookies.

We finished the day by practicing I's.  Next week, we will learn more about Thanksgiving and have our sharing meal on Wednesday.

Thursday November 19th

Dear Parents,

It finally stopped raining!  We were glad to see the sun peak out today.  We also liked the nice weather outside.  We made an igloo today for our ABC book.  We glued an Eskimo onto the page.  Then we cut white paper into blocks to build our igloo.  Igloo is a word that starts with I.

For our Bible story we talked about how we can praise God.  We can praise God with our eyes, ears and mouth.  God loves us.  We live in Warrenton MO but God loves people all over the world.  We used a globe today which is a map of th world.  We pointed to different places like Brazil, Uraguay and Mali. Then we said God loves people in _______.  God loves all people everywhere. Miss Schlesselman told us she will be going on a trip to Poland this summer.  We decided she would be taking a plane because you can't get there by car or train.

The book we read today was about  Mr. & Mrs. Moose who wanted a turkey for Thanksgiving.  We worked on a corncopia or horn of plenty.  This is something that people used to show the good harvest that they had.  We glued pictures on of food we liked.  We also told Mrs. Klaustermeier what we were thankful for.  She wrote it on an feather and then we colored the feathers.  We put the the feathers in a turkey picture.

We had fun playing outside in the nice weather.  Then we finished our school day by making a ice cream puppet and showing our I things.

Miss Schlesselman

P.S. Thanks for everyone who was able to come to the sharing meal.  We had a great time.  Mrs. Robine will be in for me next Tuesday, as I have a teacher conference I am going to.

Wednesday November 17th

Dear Parents,

It was nice to see a break in the rain today.  We were finally able to go outside.  The first project for today was to  work on a Thanksgiving word book.  We had three words in the book. They were Mayflower, Pilgrim & Thanksgiving Dinner.  We cut apart the sheet and stapled the pages together.

We read another Psalm today.  We talked about how we can praise God with our eyes, ears, mouths and hands.  We sang some songs that we clapped and waved our hands to.  Our calendar helper today was Coty.  He put up the words Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Grant was our weather person.  It was cloudy and rainy today and he dressed the bear like a baseball player.  We read a story about the Pilgrims.

Maddie brought our snack of donuts and chocolate milk today.  We made pictures of Pilgrim people and the boat that they traveled on the Mayflower.  We had fun in the gray day outside.  Then we finished the day by making an ice cream puppet.

On Friday we will be learning more about the letter I and Thanksgiving.

Tuesday November 17th

Dear Parents,

It was a misty morning at preschool today.  We did not get to go outside to play at recess.  Our first project for the morning was to make a place mat.  We will use this for our Thank You God Sharing Meal on Thursday.  If you didn't get a chance to sign up and plan to come, let me know and I can tell you what we still need.

Pastor came in today.  The Bible story he told today was about Job.  Job had  a lot of nice things.  But then a lot of bad things happened to Job.  Job's friends told Job that it was because he was a sinner.  Job didn't get  angry at God.  God loved Job and he helped Job in the tough times.  Soon Job had more than he did before.  We talked about how God loves us always.  We also did some fun exercises.

Our story today was called "Tops & Bottoms" and it was about a hare and bear.  The hare tricked the bear into giving up the good parts of his garden.  We worked on a turkey book and turkey puzzle before snack.  We had granola bars and juice for snack that Joseph brought.  We got to play with bean bags before we left.

Our Lunch Bunch will be tomorrow and Thursday will be our Thank You God Sharing Meal.  We hope to see you there.

Monday November 16th

Dear Parents,

It sure was a rainy day today.  We didn't get to go outside and play today.  Our first project for the morning was to make our I book.  We are learning about the letter I this week.  We practiced writing our I's, colored I pictures and drew words that started with I.

After our free play time we talked about praising God.  We sang Jesus loves Me and we talked about all the ways we can praise God.  Miss Schlesselman read a Psalm a book in the Bible that has lots of songs that praise God.  We also found different places on the globe.  We talked about how God loves people in that country.  Miss Schlesselman told us about a trip she is taking this summer to Poland to help in English summer camps.

Our calendar helper today was Ayden.  He put up the numbers 14, 15, & 16.  Cierra was our weather helper.  The weather today was rainy and cloudy.  We did two turkey projects at our centers.  We put together a turkey puzzle and we made a turkey with feathers showing what we were thankful for.  LIzzie brought our snack today.

We stayed inside and played with the parachute.  Our last project for the day was to put pictures of things we are thankful in our cornucopia.  A cornucopia or a horn of plenty reminds people of a harvest or of things they are thankful for.  We will be learning more about Praising God and the letter I on Wednesday.

LUNCH BUNCH ON WEDNESDAY!

Wednesday November 11th

Dear Parents,

I want to take a moment and stop and thank all veterans for their service.  As a person very fond of history, I am truly thankful for all the veterans who gave service to their country throughout the years.  America is a wonderful country thanks to your service.  Thank You!

Our first project today was doing a dot to dot helicopter picture.  We are learning about the letter H and helicopter is an h word.  There  are also instructions on the page how to make a paper helicopter.  The helicopter will spin in the air when you drop it.

Miss Schlesselman told the Bible story with puppets today.  Naaman was an important general who was sick.  A little girl told Naaman to go see God's prophet and God's prophet made Naaman well.  We talked about how the little girl had been taken away from her family but she still shared the love of God with Naaman.  We talked about how we can show God's love even when someone hurts us.

Our calendar helper was Nova.  We put a flag up for Veterans Day.  Nova put the numbers 10 & 11up.  Our weather helper was Cameron.  He put up the sun for the weather for today and dressed the bear as a soldier.  For centers today we had great goldfish that Lucas brought.  We also colored a Veterans Day picture.  We colored one to take home and one to send to a soldier who is far away.  After recess we made a heliocopter word wheel.

On Friday we will learn more about Naaman and the letter H.
